VIERSEN: THE NETHERLANDS ARE ON TOP OF THE WORLD.
The Dutch dream team (Jaspers & de Bruijn) conquered the gold medal of the 37th World Championship 3-Cushion National Teams in a quite full Viersen's Festhalle. For The Netherlands that is the fourth time with Dick Jaspers always in the duo since the first gold in 1998, for Jean Paul de Bruijn it is the first world gold. The same team took the bronze medal in 2023.
It was not an easy task: Dick Jaspers won the single against Q.C.Tran for 40-38 in 21 innings while on the other table Jean Paul de Bruijn beat P.V.Bao by 40-34 in 28 in the second single. Before that the Dutch team had to overcome the Turkish duo (Berkay Karakurt and Ufuk Kapusiz) in a difficult semifinal match that needed the 15 points scotch double extension to decide the winner after one win for each side. Belgian team (Peter Ceulemans and Roland Forthomme) was on the podium too, after losing the semifinals to the Vietnamese by two clear single defeats.

Silver medal: Vietnam
Bronze medals: Belgium and Turkiye

VIERSEN: BELGIUM, THE NETHERLANDS, TURKIYE AND VIETNAM REACHED THE SEMIFINALS
The three CEB countries will contend the world title with the Vietnamese defending champions.
In the quarterfinals Belgium and Vietnam had a clear win on USA and Mexico while the Netherlands and Turkiye draw the regular match and could get the pass to semifinals only after winnings the 15 points scotch-double extension against South Korea and Germany.
Semifinals are scheduled for tomorrow morning at 11:00 and 13:00 German time, the final around 16:00.

VIERSEN IS ONCE AGAIN THE WORLD HEART OF 3-CUSHION BILLIARD
The Festhalle in Viersen (Germany) is once again the place to be for the world 3-cushion elite. The UMB World Championship 3-Cushion National Teams is ready to start and it's a long story that dates back to 1981, organized by the DBU in Viersen since 1990.
This season the Vietnamese team is the defending champion, composed by Q.C.Tran and P.V.Bao, the same team who won the title in 2024. Spanish team (Legazpi and Jimenez) took the silver medal.
The 16 participating teams are representing the 4 continental Confederations: 8 teams from the CEB (Europe), 3 from ACBC (Asia), 3 from America (CPB) and 2 from Africa/Middle East (AMECC).
The games will start on March 13th until Sunday 16th.
The format is a classic round robin qualification phase (4 groups of 4) where the first two from each group will advance to the next KO rounds.
